Thanks to Hope for getting this all in one place!
On February 6, 2011 Josh Hancock posted the Love Letters from Marty to Marilyn on his forum. This is what he posted:
In the Sequel to the original documentary, we reveal excerpts from "love" letters written by one of the suspects in the case. These letters were provided to us during filming by a source that asked to remain anonymous. Here are the letters in full.
Dear Marilyn, First off, you know that I haven't tried to hurt you with my letters. I'm writing this after our phone call Monday (4-27). Marilyn, there's two things I want you to know; the first is that I love you & I don't care what has happened. Now is the time to start over. Call now!
You don't know how much I suffered before I met you. I asked God to send me someone who would care for me. I thought he sent you. I remember the hour, the words that were said; I said your ph number a thousand times that night.
I've given you my heart. All of it! Please try & think back. What do you think I've paid for you.
For three years I've heard about your kids; Don't get me wrong I love them too! Now I'll ask! What about mine? Don't you think I love them? Honey I gave up four of the most precious things in my life; for what? For you! The answer is simple!
Now I'll ask you. Why should I love your kids more than mine. I've tried! That's more than you can say. I don't think you ever loved me much less my kids and yet you expect this from me & I've given it to you. I've paid the price of your love & now that I have bought it with four people lives, you tell me we are through. Great! What else do you want?
I've paid the price! I've given my flesh & blood for you. I'll gladly pay your bills. Just send them in! You know that I love you more than my own kids. Can you say that? I know you have given up a lot to be with me. But I don't think you know what I've paid. Yes, I'm jealous! For the price I've paid I should be. You can't seem to understand how bad you have hurt me. I'm crawling back! Take me! I've paid for your love. Please give it back at least once. If you don't, you know you've stolen my heart and given it to the street.
I love you. Think about what I've given up for you, Marde Call me! Please don't wait till it's too late! I've given it all! What else do you want!
{And as a separate document}:
Oh God I love you more than life. Please forgive me, Marilyn love, Marde I'm sorry
{And as a separate document}:
This moment of sadness brought to you from your loving wife, who you will never stop loving or will you ever forget Willie Nelson
Help me make it
An angel frying through the night too close to the ground
Two envelopes, one containing a letter and afterthought note, the other containing just a note. One postmarked April 27pm, the other April 28 pm.

On MK forum she had photo's of the letters and the envelopes. One was postmarked April 27, 1981 Klamath Falls, Or, and the other was postmarked April 28, 1981 Klamath Falls, OR. In the upper corner of one of the envelopes was handwritten "poss sus". They were both addressed to Marilyn at her Keddie address. Marilyn said in the people magazine article that she never got the letters and that is probably the truth because she was no longer living in Keddie.
I really don't understand how anyone could read these letters and think he was talking about murder. He was clearly talking about how he was sorry for being jealous of her, how he had given up his 4 kids, his own flesh and blood, 4 of the most precious things in his life, and had paid for her love and bought it with (those 4 kids he had given up) lives. The only thing these letters confirm to me are that he loved Marilyn so much he had abandoned his own kids, and was jealous of her (because he had reason to be).It also confirms the statement made by Brent Hayes on April 28 of Marty calling him from Klamath Falls saying he was going to kill all of Marilyn's boyfriends if she didn't return to him. No mention of the Keddie murders.
The odd thing is that Josh said he was given the letters, while filming part 2, by someone wishing to remain anonymous. Who would have had those letters with "poss sus" (possible suspect) written on them but the police?
Mike Gamberg said in the people magazine article that ,"the letters were overlooked and never listed as evidence". The People Magazines "Five Things you should know about the Keddie Murders", stated that, "During the recently revived investigation, sheriff's investigator Mike Gamberg was made aware of a letter written by Marty to Marilyn after the crimes." But how could that possibly be true as all of us who had been on the forums for any length of time (including Mike Gamberg) would have known about the letters. Maybe they didn't want to explain how an inside source gave Josh those letters.
PCSO had the letters or Dmac had the letters - either way we all knew about the letters so would have been hard for them to have been "overlooked" unless nobody was looking until ID decided to do the show. Hagwood makes it appear that as soon as they were discovered they were immediately sent for DNA test. And hopefully they were.

I read those letters over and over and I can't see any other way to take them other than that he meant his kids when he spoke of the 4 peoples' lives. Every time I pointed that out on 2 other sites, DMAC cursed at me and called me stupid. Really? It's plain as day.

It is now being told that Justin's DNA is present in crime scene. If Marty was really at this crime and he forced Justin to participate in these crimes, why in hell was he not blackmailing Marilyn with this information!! Instead he is whinning to Brent Hayes and writing pathetic love letters.

Yep. I'm not saying Marty is innocent of everything in life. Maybe he sold drugs, drove drunk, assaulted peopl. Whatever. But I just can't connect this letter writer and all around blow hard to these murders. Obviously all the law enforcement ppl of the time couldn't either. I don't think every one of them, from different agencies, covered up or did shoddy work. It's too far fetched.

Yes the big conspiracy is laughable. If Marty really went to the trouble of forcing Justin to "participate" in these murders then why in the world not use that against him and Marilyn for her to return to him??

One would think that would have been his ace in the hole. I'll rat on your beloved son if you don't do what I say.

And--IF Martin really was willing to commit mass murder for Marilyn, wouldn't that automatically imply that he'd ALSO be willing to LIE for her? Just enough lies to take enough heat off her son? That sure seems to have been the RESULT of all his "confessions" and whatnot. Does that prove said result was "planned?" Maybe not. But, again, IF he was willing to KILL, then surely, he'd be willing to lie? Right?

I would certainly think so.

Marde would have lied and lied and lied until he figured it out that Marilyn wasn't coming back and then he would have sung and sung and sung.
Truth is, they were bumping along and bumping along (OMG! MURDERS HAPPENED!) and then they bumped along and bumped along some more. These murders weren't much more than a blip in the life of "The Wonderful Adventures of Marde and Marilyn Featuring Bo and Dee and the Rest of the Gang".
When were they first made aware that they were being strongly accused? (There's a huge difference between fleeing town and leaving town.) They didn't even have to defend themselves because they didn't know they were being accused (other than by the local gossip mill also known as Marilyn and Mama)...am I right?
So, they bumped along and bumped along then they died. The End.
And, that's when all hell broke loose....

I agree the letters are NOT an admission of guilt. It’s obvious he was speaking about giving up his children for Marilyn.
It seems he truly did love her....I don’t know?

Poor Marty, had some serious issues.
For one, love Is not measurable. Like why is it her, or the kids?
To me, that is a distortion, that one has to love a new spouse "more" or "less" then a kinsman who preceded him or her.
But that being said, this correspondence offers tremendous opportunity for insights into this man's limitations, and by extension, the limits of the particular relationship to which he refers.
However, it says nothing about his involvement in the murder.

However, it says nothing about his involvement in the murder. The only evidence that could come from the letter, in my opinion, would be DNA or fingerprints.
