The last 17 (or 18) characters at the end of the 408-character cryptogram may be "null" characters, or they may be an anagram. If you have a proposed solution, post it here! You can see my solution here: GZKH of 1986

If Hal Snook and/or Keith Power wrote the first Zodiac letters, and therefor the 408 Cipher/Code, why would they put "Robept E Smith the II" at the end?

Uuuuuhhhhhh, did you read GZKH1986 yet? A second person MAY have created the ciphers. On the other hand, maybe it's a swipe AT Graysmith. On the third hand, Power MAY have relied on a "source." See what I mean? My biggest point was, how come GRAYSMITH "didn't notice" that the "anagram" spelled HIS OWN NAME?

I usually have to read something several times before everything sinks in. Old age and all that. Yes, it is strange that he didn't notice his own name, but maybe he did, and that is another reason why he changed his name to Graysmith.

Oh, I realize I wasn't quite clear. I "believe" Graysmith was in on the hoax from day one. But I can't PROVE that. Yet.
