Sam Carr's daughter Wheat worked at his answering service, as well as the Yonkers police department as a dispatcher. That put her in possession of a LOT of interesting information. She would have detailed knowledge of all the habits and routines--not to mention moment-to-moment whereabouts--of every beat cop and radio unit in the Yonkers PD. She would also know a LOT about the habits, activities, whereabouts, and associations of her father's answering service clients.
Wheat closely resembled some witness descriptions of persons associated with the .44 caliber shootings, and could pass for her brother John Carr. John Carr's childhood family nickname was "Wheaties." A "John Wheaties" is mentioned in one of the Son of Sam letters.
What else do we know about Wheat Carr?

Hope I can post this here. If not Tom, please remove with my apologies. It was originally posted on another Son of Sam site that no longer has a forum and does not seem to have active participation or updates (it is still online though) The following PDF was from a "I Grew Up In Yonkers" Facebook page. It seems to be from around a decade ago (2009-2012 time frame) If you go to page 6, you can start seeing Wheat Carr posting. It was one of the first times I saw her responding/defending publicly the allegations that Maury Terry and Berkowitz brought up that her family was involved with the Son of Sam: sonofsamconspiracy.com/articles/WHEATCARRYONKERSFBPOSTS.pdf

Post away! We need all the help we can get. We've uncovered a LOT of incredible new stuff, but none of us is really a SOS expert. We just ran across something HUGE in a totally unrelated investigation. Then, I was catching up on the Arlis Perry stuff, and I thought, maybe I should reread TUE. And Holy Shit...but we'll be podcasting our SOS "investigation," rather than just a so-called "solution" where we think we know everything. So, by all means, keep posting, as long as it's not like "viagra" spam.
Thanks for joining!

Do we have any confirmation, beyond Wheat, that Berkowitz “firebombed” the Carr residence?

Somebody on the Unofficial FB page posted these for me. Interesting how little damage this “firebomb” caused at the Carr residence. If this has been covered, I missed it, but in light of that article and the fish tale that the “firebombing” became over the years, I think they placed those clues about Wicker Street and John Wheaties because they very much wanted to be interviewed by police and anybody who would listen. They wanted to show all the threatening letters, the *wounded* dog and the burnt curtains. All part of the plan to cast Berkowitz as a lone crank and psycho nut.

I think ace is pretty much right. Don't forget, Glassman rode WITH BERKOWITZ to the jail. And he made himself extremely convenient to the whole arrest, even going through the motions of being "stopped" by the cops like a "suspect," instead of a snitch. And Wheat Carr was on duty at the time of the arrest, making it possible for her to tip whoever--including cops, as well as robbers--that the cops were coming to Pine St.

I hate to sound impressed but the planning of this operation is fascinating and the timing was perfect. Aside from Berky being found “ fit to stand trial” (wait, what trial?) everything went pretty much according to plan.
