Were ballistics tests conducted on the bullet casings from at BRS park that reveal the kind of gun that was used (not just the type of ammunition)? Could you please steer me to the ballistics test results?
I know the police report says Luger but it's my understanding that a Luger couldn't hold as many bullets as were fired at BRS.

I think Browning Hi-Power was the actual popular opinion of experts, since it sometimes came with a 13-round clip. You can't always tell much from the casings, beyond center-fire vs rim-fire, and no 9mm "Luger" compatible ammo is rim-fire, there you go. It is sometimes possible to match casings to a particular gun. The Luger Parabellum, Walther P38, and Browning Hi-Power are only three of MANY pistols that can fire 9x19 "Luger" cartridges. Go to a pawn shop and buy a used .38 Special. A six pack of beer says it has an aftermarket cylinder for 9mm "Luger" ammo. Although you might want to wait until the barrel is a tad worn before you actually fire 9mm ammo from a .38 pistol.
