This is a statement from Jeremy Duvall. It was a deleted scene from Josh's documentary. I'm not sure if Mr. Duvall held any other positions, however, he was a sergeant at PCSO in the 90s & 00s.
What is the status of these 50 pieces of evidence sent for DOJ testing? What has been done with these items since this statement was made 15 or so years ago?
And, I just have to add, he is also correct about Tina. They did perform extensive searches for her and it is all documented in the Feather River Bulletin and other local newspapers from the time. That is most likely when the aerial photos were taken, also documented in the newspaper, not noon on Sunday April 12, 1981. The photos may have been taken around noon (based on shadows, etc) just not on the 12th.
And despite the claims being made there is absolutely no way LE didn't know Tina was missing until hours later or confuse Sue's body for Tina. Despite the obvious differences in appearance, Pathologists are able to discern whether or not a victim has ever given birth. And again, just on physical appearance alone, it is ridiculous to believe LE, the mortuary, or coroners office would mistake a 12 year old girl for a grown woman who has given birth 5 times.
If Sue's brother was asked to to identify the bodies twice it was most likely for chain of custody issues. He was at the scene when the bodies were discovered by LE so he was probably asked there and then again when the bodies were taken to the mortuary. To follow proper protocol, not because they were confused/unsure of who the victims were.

There, the only new evidence that has come in as time has gone on has been names of people who could possibly be involved in this crime. And with, that's covering the new evidence and what we will do is try to either rule them out or see if they, there's any possibility that they had anything to do with it. Other evidence issues that have been dealt with is there are in excess of probably 50 items of evidence that was seized back in when the crime occurred that have been taken to the California's Department of Justice for DNA analysis. Just to see if there's anything on them.
I was told that they started looking for Tina immediately, that they had, you know, people out looking, there were a lot of volunteers from the community. Sheriff's office was looking, they checked the river area that was, you know, through the area. BOLO's or be on the lookout's were put out to law enforcement and our agency as well as other agencies.
Well, some of the personal thoughts I have obviously I can't get into. There are several theories out there. And I have myself have not come settled on any one theory. I think when you, if you come settled on one theory, you're going to narrow the focus of the investigation too much. So whether or not it was someone passing through, that's a possibility. However, um, I have my doubts about it being a train jumper or someone riding the trains.
