This is something that always felt could be important, however, I personally never saw much about it. It is the card of a DEA agent being found amongst Johnny's belongings. That is basically all I remember hearing in regards to this DEA card, it was found in his possession and that was it. Does anyone have or remember more info about it?
How would someone, a teenage boy rumored to dabble in weed & possibly other drugs, end up with the business card of a DEA agent?? There is only one way I can think of. And that would be said DEA agent physically handing Johnny their business card. Perhaps he was "busted" but told he would be given a pass in exchange for becoming an informant? I am aware PCSO contacted the DEA after the homicides & were told the DEA had no records of Johnny. But would such an agreement be "on the books"? Or something done quietly between said agent & Johnny? If it was on the DL, then I'd think this DEA agent, finding out an underage teen they approached had turned up murdered would be a good reason to keep any correspondences with Johnny to themselves. If that makes sense.
I believe it was said the DEA contact info was found in a school notebook of Johnny's? Was this notebook in his belongings found at school? Or his home (some school notebooks were found thrown about the living room)?
I also believe it was said Johnny may have had the contact info from a school presentation or project. This doesn't ring true to me either. Was his teacher ever asked about this? If a "presentation " I would think each kid in the class would have the contact info. Did they? Or just Johnny? And if the contact info was for a school project, I just find if difficult to believe in 1981, a high school kid would put the work in to find such info. It was pre-internet. How would one even go about finding contact info for a specific DEA agent? Then reaching out to them? Not something I would have ever considered doing. And, once again, did he possess an actual card with contact info? Or just a phone number written down? There is a big, and important, difference between the two.
The entire thing is weird to me and I was wondering your guys thoughts or if there is any additional information that I'm not privy to. All i know, is back in my teenage years, when smoking weed & having keg parties in the woods was what we did for "fun", there is no way my friends or I would have had a DEA agents contact info in our belongings. If it turned out somebody did have such info then it would have been a secret and something this person most likely had because they were working with the DEA agent as an informant. That is where my head goes. Anyone have any different thoughts or anything to add?
EDIT TO ADD:
I always thought it was said Johnny had DEA contact info (from the old forums & reports Josh had seen). However, while copying this PON entry I see it actually just says DOJ. Although, the DEA is a department within the DOJ, this entry does not specify as such. Anybody else know, was it the info of a DEA agent??
