Was that "Death of a Teacher" story posted in the official Ultimate Evil group on Facebook that Maury moderated before his death? I've tried to join it but my membership request has been stuck on pending for a while. I always wondered if anyone here was in that Ultimate Evil Facebook group.
It seems Carl Denaro is the admin now of that group.
On a most recent interview (see link below) that Carl did on the House of Mystery/Inside Writing program promoting his new book, Carl said towards the end of the interview that he has around 300 pending requests for people asking to join that Facebook group. He laid out some criteria of what he was looking for in people to join it.
Carl even said in that interview that he didn't want to sound "very cold" about people joining, but didn't want "lurkers", he wanted solid researchers and real Facebook names/profiles.
But, I couldn't think of a more qualified researcher than yourself George to join a group like that.
Here's a link to the YouTube interview Carl did. At the end, he addresses the Facebook thing:

I remember Curt Rowlett hanging around Tom Voigt's Zodiac forum a couple of decades ago. Occasionally the subject of the Sam cult would come up, and the consensus among the folks there was that Maury had just invented his story from whole cloth; they were so smug in their certainty that when Curt's interview with Wheat appeared, they took it as confirmation that there had been no violent cult in Yonkers. How Wheat Carr's word became the gold evidentiary standard is still a mystery to me. Be great if she actually did dispel a few myths. Honestly, we could use a few less questions.

Yes, I'd love to hear her go into more detail if she's actually got the goods, but she seems content to to deny in very general terms that her family had links to any nefarious activity. Which is odd since she has also conceded that John had a deep interest in the occult.

Exactly right, and Wheat always skirts those details. I'd love to have a chat with her.

I was a Police Officer for twenty years and investigated many serious crimes and I have to say if I had a witness who was as sharp and concise as Tommy Zaino available to interview it would have made my work much easier! Watch the interview's of Tommy Zaino giving the description of the Moskowitz Violante shooter, that is more than enough to blow the Berkowitz is the lone gunman theory out the window. Add to that Wheat Carr's feeble attempt to defend her two seriously disturbed brothers who died violent death's shortly after the Berkowitz arrest. I remember talking to a retired NYPD detective who had interviewed Sam and Wheat Carr in regards to the whereabout's of John Carr a few months after the Berkowitz arrest, he told me that the Carr family was classic "White Trash" thats food for thought!

I just got some pics of Mike Carr's wedding and I can attest to the veracity of that Police Officer's assessment. The Carr's were some serious dirtbags. Seriously disturbed is an understatement!

I didn't know either! Maury said he was gay, not that that means much. Gays married all the time back then. But I haven't gotten permission to post those photos. But Mike was a very seedy looking dude with very sandy hair, much like one of the suspects in the Lupo shooting. As soon as I can I will start showing photos like that.
As far as Wheat goes, I have no clue about that. Perhaps someone else knows more than me about that. What was Henry Edwards? A bar or club?

I keep thinking about the discrepancies in the John Carr autopsy report. The body examined was 5"11" John Carr was 5'9" There was no lung damage from smoking tobacco, John Carr was a big smoker! Me thinks that John Carr staged his own fake death! I'm sure the official autopsy report is missing as well!
