Then there's the odd decision to apply the pseudonym "Vinny" when relating the story about Donna Lauria's ex-boyfriend allegedly stating she had "one week to live" roughly 10 days before she was shot...especially since he then mentions Maury's prison source "Vinny" later on...I don't think there's ever been any evidence they were one and the same, so it seems a curious choice to use the same pseudonym. I think Vinny was actually Donna Lauria's ex-boyfriend's real name. The 1981 Lawrence Klausner book mentions her boyfriend's name and I don't believe pseudonyms were used anywhere in the book. Then his decision to put Vinny in quotation marks is puzzling...maybe Vinny's alleged connection to the Gambinos spooked him...who knows...but once again, it's an amateurish move.

Uh, which Vinny was maybe connected to Gambino? Jody Valente married a Denaro, and they live in a nice suburban neighborhood where a LOT of birds of a certain Sicilian feather bought houses. (Denaro is the single most common name in the Sicilian Mafia. On the other hand, it's just about the single most common name in the NY/NJ area. Literally boatloads of Denaros came over from the old country in the late 1800s/early 1900s.) Birds like Ronnie DeFeo, Sr, nephew of the actually, bona fide "made" DeFeo who "retired" Costello for Genovese. In 1957. You remember 1957. The year Gambino had Biondo bump Anastasia in a barber chair in the Park Sheraton Hotel. (THAT's how I want to go out, for the record.) For whatever a mafia rumor is "worth," Biondo supposedly farmed out that contract to two drug traffickers (Steve "Coogan" Grammauta and Joe "Piney" Armone) who had set up an operation to smuggle heroin into NY harbor from the Bahamas, a la Charles Tacot. Gambino and Meyer Lansky ran Cuba--well, you know the rest.
Anastasia was clearly a sociopath (played MASTERFULLY by Peter Falk in both "Murder Inc" and the TV series "The Untouchables") and one can't help wondering if he belonged to some kind of cult that enabled him to murder somewhere between 200 and 500 people...I mean, the guy whacked a gas station attendant he didn't like. And the only SOS theory that makes any sense is that Berko and company were part of some kind of latter day "Murder, Inc." Run by who? Armone? When Castellano took over the family in 1976 (ding! ding! ding! maybe) the old Gotti/Grammauta rivalry kicked up. Two cement-headed goons at the top of the same family...can't help wondering who all got caught in the crossfire...
Anastasia was so good with an ice pick, an unknown number of his victims were declared dead of heart attacks and strokes.

Jody Valente married a Denaro Professor, where did you come across this info on Jody Valente? (can you confirm source?)
Research is indicating that Jody did NOT marry a "Denaro"
Her husband's last name initial is an "F"

Hey, I really shit-up the thread and that’s on me. Donovan seemed to make perfect sense- *alleged* ties to organized crime, real estate-related background, high level, the initial “D”, lol... We’re going to hit brick walls, float bad ideas and offer names that later turn out to be useless. I’ve come up with dozens of things I’m glad I never posted because they turned out to be worthless. BUT, “crowdsourcing” helps keep us on the right track and I appreciate you guys for helping keep me honest. While we’re on the subject of Mr. Denaro’s book: not to sling mud or make accusations, but I have noticed his book is riddled with misspellings. If there’s misleading information, intentional or otherwise, we’ll just have to vet his work like everything else. donovansny.com/?fbclid=IwAR1YksB5kltfNz7vKVO7BeLLh5FBwif_DErAaQT8PkAjYaDNOKHA-G3Wu1YPolice and Firemen...a burger, a beer...and a goblet of blood or two?

Omega: Can you PM me your Jody V's husband's name? Might be two different Jody Valenti's (not that farfetched, believe it or not. A million Valentis plus a million Denaros equals...)
But this Jody Valenti looks exactly like Jody Valenti, and she is definitely married to a Denaro and they definitely live in a famous "mobster" suburb.
