RE: "That could be the guy"
Don't know.
It's getting a little confusing.
I thought the clue was for the actual "Mr. Real Estate" (not Howell) and Carl gave the last name in his book (and what you saw on his reply on those YouTube comments)
I'm assuming the "Mr. D." that Maury says died of natural causes, in the 1999 "Inside Edition" interview, and "Mr. Real Estate" are the same.
But, now we have someone who is still alive, or was definitely alive in/past 1999??
Manny, on his Lake Avenue video, also noted that research seems to indicate initials for the actual "Mr. Real Estate" could be "J.D."
I need a drink!

Shit. Middle initial is âJâ. I think I need a drink too.

I think things were easier when we thought,AHH=MR.RE=Moloch!đNow we have to deal with JD or RD or even RJD!It can spin ones head around.I dont know if this helps or further confuses, but here is a refresher from TUE,original, page 502: "The top leader of the Children, not surprisingly, was said to be a lawyer who dealt in Real Estate,or a Real Estate man who also held a law degree. He was said to have been middle-aged,perhaps 45-53 yearsold,in 1977.He was described as balding and thin, and was said to wear glasses,at least on occasion. This leader was said to have maintained an office in the White Plains vicinity during the Son of Sam era and perhaps still did in 1987.The office, rather than in a highrise building was described as then being in a"residential type" dwelling in or near White Plains. The leaders home was said to have been somewhere other than White Plains,in a location unknown to the informants".
So there you have it.He's also said to be possibly divorced, has a son,or son inlaw, who is an attorney, and a "college-aged" daughter at the time of the attacks.Oh,and he had a large boat! Well, maybe that helps someone! But not me.đ€

Jesus...if I knew posting that was going to get everyone spun out, I might not have posted it....ah, hell, who am I kidding? I would have posted it, anyway... Raymond Donovan, per se, isn't the interesting name (or names) in the article...IF you know who some of those people were directly connected to day-to-day... All due respect to Denaro...but I think in his rush to get his book to market before the re-release of TUE...he conflated information regarding "Mr. D" and "Mr Real Estate"...two different people who, it can be shown, knew each other quite well. There's gold in those hills, as they say... Put it this way...if "Donovan" is really "Mr. Real Estate"...how come Denaro was posting intel online, and giving that same intel out via podcast interview...that ONLY applies to AHH? The person most likely to be "Mr. D" didn't work for Citibank...but he did own real estate...and he died of natural causes...in 1986, if memory serves. But his last name isn't "Donovan". Was Denaro engaging in the same behaviors that he castigated Maury for in his book...that same type of sneaky, "splitting" behavior? I think he "doth protest too much" when he says it didn't bother him that Maury's files got turned over to Zeman instead... But it doesn't really matter...yes, the "Mr. Real Estate" moniker technically would fit better on the front-runner for the title of "Mr. D" than it would AHH...end result would be the same though...it would just be "Moloch" and "Mr. Real Estate" at the top of the food chain, using different monikers than we've come to expect...using the drug addicted, deviant psychos to do their dirty work and enact their long con... As for "Donovan"...I like how Zeman put a sneaky reference to "Donovan" in the opening of the series episodes, however...if there is a real "Donovan" mentioned in Maury's files, I'd make book on it not being who Denaro seems to think it is...

All due respect...but I don't believe the most likely suspect for "Mr. D" would be found hanging at the local Boy Scout troop diddling the troops, as it were...

Some of us, have never heard the name "Donovan" in the mix and were just going off this sole part/text of how the name was mentioned in Carl Denaro's book:
"Here is a post that Maury put up, in theory to give people clues as to who Mr. Real Estate was. Even with knowing his name, the clues don't seem to match up to Donovan."

In general, I really don't like supernatural horror...but The Exorcist is awesome. Creepy on so many levels...not the least of which is the fact one of the bit-part actors is a guy subsequently suspected of being a serial killer. William Peter Blatty sure knew how to mess with peoples' heads...

Hey, I really shit-up the thread and thatâs on me. Donovan seemed to make perfect sense- *alleged* ties to organized crime, real estate-related background, high level, the initial âDâ, lol... Weâre going to hit brick walls, float bad ideas and offer names that later turn out to be useless. Iâve come up with dozens of things Iâm glad I never posted because they turned out to be worthless. BUT, âcrowdsourcingâ helps keep us on the right track and I appreciate you guys for helping keep me honest. While weâre on the subject of Mr. Denaroâs book: not to sling mud or make accusations, but I have noticed his book is riddled with misspellings. If thereâs misleading information, intentional or otherwise, weâll just have to vet his work like everything else. It's not just misspellings, although there were quite a few of those. It's certain "detail" mistakes that got carried over word for word from The Ultimate Evil, indicating that in certain instances he and his co-writer appear to have lifted copy. For example, in The Ultimate Evil chapter on the Violante/Moskowitz shooting, Maury twice mistakenly referred to Shore Parkway as "Shore Road" and then a short time later identified the site correctly. They're not the same. Shore Parkway, where the shooting took place, is in Bensonhurst. Shore Road is in Bay Ridge. When describing Masters racing along the Belt Parkway heading toward the Verrazzano Bridge chasing after the Yellow VW, Maury describes Masters as giving up the chase when approaching the sign on the Belt for "4th Street" but not seeing the VW anymore...it's actually 4th Avenue...in Bay Ridge. In Denaro's book, the same exact mistakes are made...as if he just handed The Ultimate Evil to his co-writer and told him to pick out a few of the choicest bits about the shootings... Then there's the odd decision to apply the pseudonym "Vinny" when relating the story about Donna Lauria's ex-boyfriend allegedly stating she had "one week to live" roughly 10 days before she was shot...especially since he then mentions Maury's prison source "Vinny" later on...I don't think there's ever been any evidence they were one and the same, so it seems a curious choice to use the same pseudonym. Then there's the faulty transcription of the postscript section of the Borrelli letter...especially bad considering an actual picture of the letter is included in the book. Then when he's listing the eight shooters with Maury's suspect for each attack toward the end of the book..."Eighth Attack: Shooter: "Maury Terry says it was Larry Lomenko". Uh...does he mean "Larry Milenko" as he listed earlier in the book? There's a few more, but I think the point was made...the book is strictly amateur hour.

I think Vinny was actually Donna Lauria's ex-boyfriend's real name. The 1981 Lawrence Klausner book mentions her boyfriend's name and I don't believe pseudonyms were used anywhere in the book.

" Hey Donnie...what's 'fuhgeddaboudit'? 'Fuhgeddaboudit' is like if you agree with someone, you know, like Raquel Welch is one great piece of ass, fuhgeddaboudit. But then, if you disagree, like a Lincoln is better than a Cadillac? Fuhgeddaboudit! you know? But then, it's also like if something's the greatest thing in the world, like mingia those peppers, fuhgeddaboudit. But it's also like saying Go to hell! too. Like, you know, like 'Hey Paulie, you got a one inch pecker!'and Paulie says 'Fuhgeddaboudit!' And sometimes...it just means...forget about it." All due respect...the only people who called it Bath Beach back then were tourists and "money" assholes from the city...same way we still called Hell's Kitchen "the Kitchen" after those same "money" assholes decided Hell's Kitchen needed to become "Clinton"... Once you got above 14th Avenue, you were in Bensonhurst. "Hey, I'm going up to the Oriental to see what's playing...wanna go?" "Bensonhurst? Okay, just let me get my baseball bat first."
