Graysmith claims in his book, ZODIAC, that the inside passenger door handle of Darlene Ferrin's Corvair had been removed prior to the shooting, then mysteriously replaced while the car was in police custody. But it's plain from Doug Clark's and Officer Sparks's reports that this is pure hooey:
