"Then a DNA report stating Marty's DNA was found on the letters, and the secondary female hit was found not only on some of the brown electrical cords used to bind Sue, but a blood sample taken from the scene. It was recommended by DOJ senior DNA analyst to run Marilyn's DNA again. The report's not in perfect chron order, so this bounces back to late 2014 from 2015. Mike also began a search to see if DNA was ever attempted or extracted from her skeletal remains." Holy hell, she volunteered DNA (twice?)! and didn't get the results they wanted so dig 'er up?! WTAF? Also the report says "blue shirt" over and over, when did it become a denim shirt? And what size? Tina was described wearing a blue shirt the last time she was seen I believe. If its the killers, there was at least one "strange" guy that night described wearing blue jeans, denim shirt, and boots.

God, I hope that's not what they were saying! I could be wrong, the wording of that post is awkward, but I think the DNA Analyst was suggesting that in regards to Tina. He just skipped over her name. Marilyn was still alive in 2014/2015.
It reminds me of this old comment from Sheila:
When/where did Sheila really hear that from? She makes it sound like she read this report when she was 14. If so where did the information in said report come from? Couldnt have been from DNA testing since that would have been 81. I also don't believe PCSO would have been showing her reports back then. Did they ask her about it? Did her uncle mention it to her? PCSO definitely asked him about Tina because his PON entry says "Does not believe Tina to be involved".
Then I always wonder about that one missing page from Justin's hypnosis interview. Could Justin have mentioned Tina grabbing cords?
Or was it actually something she read from the files obtained during the filming of the documentary (since she mentions it in the cabin tour video)?
What do you guys think? To me it sounds like the family did hear it and wonder back in 81, by the way she adds "and then my family had to keep quiet".
Either way, do they or don't they have Tina's DNA?
I believe there are 2 (3 actually) blue shirts. The denim one on the table with the weapons...check that shit for DNA!! The blue sweatshirt found on the back of the toilet and the blue sweatshirt Varker found in Spanish creek.
The sightings of guy(s) similar in appearance & dress seen at the bar is interesting. And overlooked. Wasn't there a handwritten notation next to Marty's description of the guy, the notation said "Spang?"

Man, I hope your right, I guess I assumed Tina had been cremated like John and Sue. I'd love to get a good look at the shirt. Was the blood smeared or spattered on it, was is bloody on one side not the other, was it worn by an attacker or a victim, could it have been used to wipe up blood from the killers? Was there any damage to it?

I think I have the report re: the testing done on it. But I'm pretty sure it was the bathroom sweater tested not the denim shirt, unfortunately. I would like to know about that denim shirt as well! Let me see if I have that other report.

My bad, I was wrong about which shirt this report is about. It appears to be the denim shirt(?) since it mentions a pocket & collar. The report also mentions swabs taken from other areas & is only page 2/4 pages. What was th outcome of the swabs??

I wonder if "inside" really mean inside or "inner side" lol if that makes sense. Makes me wonder again about all those Canadian tuxedos mentioned. Sheila would have been asked if she recognized it, I wonder if anyone ever asked on the old boards.

Joel W. L. was interviewed at the Plumas Co. Sheriff's Office on 9-24-81 by Special Agents Bradley and Crim. Joel related the following:
He heard from another teacher on the day of the Keddie murders that Tina Sharp was killed. He came to Quincy to check and talked with someone in the sheriff's office and then he joined the search because he was brand new on the search team and thought he could be helpful if Tina was around because he was one of her teachers and she might respond better to him.
I’m curious as to who the 1981 members of the search and rescue team were - and if LE took any notes or report on who all joined in the search for Tina.

I've kinda been looking for this, I swear I read the actual statement quite awhile ago. I want to say it popped out at me because even though the description of passenger was pretty vague, it was about the same age and height/weight as dana, anybody else remember coming across this?

It's been a while since I've posted here we've been over on KeddieTruth ( if you haven't been to that forum please check it out) but we always check in and will forever be grateful to Tom for long ago adding the Keddie murders to this forum and giving us a place to discuss the case.
Recently Karis mentioned "fingerprint report" to me - does the PCSO have an actual report on the fingerprint findings? We know there were things LE dusted for prints on and even went back at later dates and retrieved, such as fingerprints. She was curious as to whose prints were on/around the kitchen drawers that the knives were usually kept in. It is on the timeline and was told by Justin (14th?) that Tina washed the dishes that night.
On 4-15-81 Crim conducted a photo identification interview with Sheila. She identified the small knife as belonging to them and kept in the drawer to the left of the kitchen sink, and identified the butcher knife as belonging to them and kept to the right of the kitchen sink. We know the drawer/drawers were dusted for prints because of the CS photo we have seen. So whose prints were on/around the drawer? If the killer was in a rush, grabbing weapons of opportunity and unfamiliar with the kitchen, then surely he had to pull open drawers until he found the knives. We have been told that Tina washed the dishes but shouldn't the killers prints be on those drawers too? Was the drawer(s) taken into evidence (I don't see it on the list)?

I think it was dementia he was suffering from Tom but who knows?
April 9, 2014 - the DOJ's Lab results were completed and Marty Smartts DNA was not found on items tested.
May 22, 2014 - Justin contacted Gamberg at the PCSO and was interviewed and submitted his DNA.
June 3, 2014 - Justin's DNA was sent to Chico lab for testing
July 25, 2014 - Meghan Mannion Gray from the DOJ DNA lab called and left a message re: a possible match in the Keddie homicide.
At this point in Gambergs case file there is just this "summary" by dmac (no clue as to what Gamberg actually wrote): Then follows several entries regarding the match of Justin's DNA to evidence in the CS. "Meghan asked about a bloody finger print partial on a section of wall board and of finger nail scrapings from the victims, for additional analysis. I advised her that I would research this on my end for further information."
Did Gamberg send the section of wall with the bloody print?? Can't imagine that he would not. A "bloody print being found" was told by Don Stoy to the FRB in a 2001 article in which he stated, "there was only one fingerprint - a single bloody fingerprint". No mention of the "bloody print" again in any articles that I've read right up until the 2018 3-part series written by Victoria Metcalf. Was the print identified??
What about the male DNA found on an electrical cord used to bind the victims? Justin's DNA was not submitted for comparison to items until 6-3-14 which was after the CA DOJ DNA report was completed 4-9-2014.
In November 2021 (and long after dmac was given the case files) he posted:
I've read what we have from Justin's 2014 and 2016 interviews with Gamberg. I've read Marilyn's 2016 interview with the FBI (which was conducted long after it was determined MBM's DNA was not at the scene) so what were they wanting from Marilyn? If she wasn't in that cabin what could she tell them? I think what LE wanted all long was to know what Justin had told Marilyn about what he knew or saw. The FBI basically told Marilyn that hypnotizing was bull - and especially squashed the idea that Justin actually took on Marty's persona in that Leidecker hypno session.
When they asked Marilyn what was the final story that Justin told her of what happened that night she said he hadn't told her anything - he said he doesn't remember. The investigator then said: "He tells everyone else these other stories".
I honestly believe Marilyn herself questioned if Justin was directly or indirectly involved by what she said during her interview and to her husband during their breaks.
My question is was Justin's DNA on more than a piece of tape?
Please check out KeddieTruth for reports and interviews

These are some quotes from Marilyn's 2016 interview.
O: (one of the investigators) "We already know SOME of the things that Justin HAD to do in that house that night. We already know...
M:I know, in fact we were talking(she and her husband) about it just this morning. I said "I don't know what went on in that house!" I think when they came and got Justin...They came and got his shoes. I remember that. (she goes on about the shoes and him "walking in the living room".)
O: And this is where it get tricky, because Mike's told you some of the stuff. And its all in the report, but this is something he didn't tell you. This is why it gets kinda serious, because this is something he didn't tell you. This is why it gets kinda serious, because the tape...That's the tape that actually came off one of the bodies...see?
M: That his DNA was found on?
M: (waving her finger at her husband) See? I KNEW IT! See, I told you I knew it. When we came here I knew it!
O: What is really amazing to me...and it's amazing to me... is his is the only DNA to come off the tape!
During a break she and her husband begin to talk:
M: You know what I was sayin'...I don't know if I should mention...my feelings about... my thoughts.. about whether Justin participated. He was a problem child. I couldn't control him.
Ed: (her husband) (Justin) Hasn't changed.
M: No. And the other is a lot like Justin. And where that comes from, I have no idea. He was mean. He was mean to Casey. And very...belligerent. Just disobedient. Just.. he was a problem child.
Another thing the investigator throws out to her.
Now the other thing I wanted to re-discuss very briefly-and we're not gonna get into how we know or anything whatsoever- but Tina was NOT killed immediately. She was not killed then. Tina was alive for some time after she was...Kidnapped.
M: Yeah, we he (Justin) made a comment to me, oh its been a couple years ago. We were talking about closure, y'know, that Sheila and everyone needs, they need closure. And y'know we need to get this thing solved. And he said, "Why!? He said, "Nobody need closure! Just let it go and forget it! And I said No! I said, "Sheila, Ricky, and Greg, they need to know what happened!. And, I dunno he just, it was like, he thought it was silly to close the case.
C: Hmm!
M: To get to all of the truth. That closure, There is no closure!, or something like that. "They need to just let it go...and forget it." It, it didn't make sense to me.
C: Uh-huh. Y'know, i'm curious abou
M: (Marilyn interupts) Justin can't put himself in someone else's shoes. He can not do it. He never has been able to. He can not...Understand..what someone else...in agony..Empathy is what it's called
C: Mm-hmm
C: So are you sayin that even if we give...Even if Justin is given the opportunity for closure, you don't think it'll mean anything to him?
M: No, I don't think it will.
C: Hmm. That's scary.
M: Hmm! It is!
To be continued.....

More of Marilyn's Interview on 6-28-16. I am assuming that they already know about the DNA report. Marilyn knows that her DNA isn't there but Jutin's is. I am thinking she probably didn't know about Marty, Dee or Bo's DNA, but she may have. But she, along with the Meeks' were trying to pin this on Marty early on.
M: But, sitting here today, I don't really remember thinking that Marty or Bo had anything to do with it.
O: Well, when did you formulate that opinion? After you just got through sayin, y'know...
M: When whoever came and got me, and I went into the Meekses house, and all the talking going on, that Marty and Bo did it...
O: Let's, let's. think it through. Let's think it through. I don't want to take and put things in your mind, cuz that's not my job. Its to get you to think, cause your gonna leave with Wade, basically and we can tell ya, because it's documented, but it's late in the evening, late at night. It's not real late, but it's late. It's not the afternoon, its late. And he came and got you and you left. And we're saying, why would you do that?" What caused you to leave that place, and that's why i'm trying to get you to think. You didn't leave at three o'clock in the afternoon or anything like that. And that's the way memories are. Y'know?
M: Well then when did he go to Reno? See, well that's...and he stopped by the Meeks' house. I didn't go out there on the porch, but he pulled up in the front. I stayed back there, in the living room. But Wade and Nina went out on the porch. To talk to Marty. And, supposedly, they were heading to Reno to pick up some car parts.
O: Ok. Who was on the way to Reno to pick up some car parts, "Supposedly"?
M: Nina and Wade said it was Marty and Dee. They were in Dee Lake's car.
O: I'm gonna stop ya there, see. Cuz, ya see, I'm, I'm trying to getcha to remember things...that are already DOCUMENTED in the report. And it's not what I believe or...anything else. It's what's documented in the report.
O: So according to the report...you, you left your house around 9:30 pm.
M: really?!
O: yes
O: ...and, and as you told us, Andy and I, in our last interview, that Nina thought she came and got you.
M: That's what she told me!
O: that is what Nina said. But you said you thought it was Wade. So, it's thoroughly documented 35 years ago, who took you from your house in Keddie to the Meeks' place. And it WAS Wade.
We know we don't have all the police files and reports. And you can look at all these people that were interviewed in 1981 and what they told then is what the police are gonna go by today. What Marilyn "couldn't" remember he had statements to back up what she knew but it looks like Nina tried hard to tell Marilyn what the narrative was but reports proved different. In reading Josh's forum it is evident that Nina was trying to force a certain narrative.
This case seems to be centered on three families, the Meeks, the Sharps and the Smartts. The Meeks' family was the link between the three families.
