I think it’s been speculated (not by any one that would matter) that 2 hammers were used.

I believe that the reason people think there were two hammers used is because on Dana (and I think Johnny but I could be wrong, I’m just going off of memory here) a few of the marks were different sizes, which could mean two different sized hammers.
I could be totally wrong, but on dmacs forum (yes I’ve been reading it but not registered) he has some of the pst forums archived and that was discussed on there.
Does it mean there were two hammers used? Maybe. Maybe not. I’m no expert.
BUT
If there were two hammers used, emphasis on if, the only reason I could see Marty or whoever did this only taking the one hammer out of the cabin was because it was his, and maybe including this supposed BB gun. The only two(?) possible weapons that they don’t know if they belonged to the family or not are missing. Everything else in the house that was used on them was left behind because there’s no reason in their mind to take it if it came from the house.
Just speculating lol

I believe i read (an early report?) " a hammer was used on Johnny and a claw hammer was used on Dana." At one point there was talk of Dana's throat being ripped by a claw hammer, but I didn't see anything in the autopsy notes to support this. The hammer left was a claw hammer, and so was the "discovered" hammer. I wonder why the distinction? When I hear hammer I don't picture a ballpeen

Today is the 39th anniversary of the murders and apparently no closer to solving this case than they were 4 years ago. So sad!!

Yes, Indeed! I remembered too! Still hoping for the Truth to come out also. Further, I wish the victims and family survivors Peace and all the best.

More of a blog but this is probably the best place to post. Aside from some errors, I found this write up from an outside LE professional VERY interesting. Apparently at one time, Johnny told Martin Smart "to stay the hell away from his mother and sisters." Whoever you think is guilty (or like me kind of on the fence) this is definitely worth the read! briankeithohara.blogspot.com/2014/11/lamar-potts-honest-georgia-sheriff-and.html?m=1

John never said any such thing. No reports even suggest a relationship between Marty and John, other than from known liars. Oh, I've seen that site. That fruitloop is definitely not returning from lunch. Dmac's got an unprecedented number of files online, plus he sent me several not published to better understand the damage done. I believe Dmac's right when he says Marilyn and the Meeks and Sheila did everything possible to incriminate MB while pointing furiously away from themselves. The solve is really simple, yet these idiots made it far too complicated.
How many assholes does it take to kill a Sue Sharp?

July 1976 Baird McKnight (18) arrested twice in the same day. Sale of cocaine and marijuana and grand theft auto. Also arrested Scott Forcino 2 counts selling marijuana one count of selling hash and one count grand theft auto. McKnight and Forcinos grand theft charges come from stealing four of those giant river rafts. So far I can place Scott, Sal (Keddie Back Door Chef), Charles, Patricia, Robert, and Larry Forcino living in Keddie late 70's ish? Looks like Randy Forcino was Living in keddie as of November 1980, Could he be Marilyns mysterious Keddie Randy?

Nice work. BTW I usually lay low after my first arrest of the day.

Randy Forcino was married to Michelle Mitchell in 1979. She was Sterling Mitchell's sister.

<FORCINO>, HAZEL
Michelle Forcino said Sterling K Mitchell was acting strange & nervous since the murders, he lived with Dana at Dorris Foster Home
<FORCINO>
<FORCINO>, MICHELLE
Dana traded boots 4/11/81 with her brother, Sterling K Mitchell <FORCINO>
It's weird that Michelle Forcino from above becomes "Sheree F." here "SIERRA CENTER LIQUOR STORE
(Keith Nicoles) sold 1/4 keg to Sheree F. on 4/11/81 (Crimm)
Where Oh where was that keg taken to?
Also-when the evidence was "re-inventoried" "Hairs from left hand, Hairs from right hand" came up missing. and just who did the medical examiner turn them over to? Dennis Forcino
From John Sharps autopsy report,"MATERIAL TO DETECTIVE FORCINO AT 5:40 P.M.: Head hair, pubic hair, oral and rectal swabs, right and left hand fingernail scrapes, hair from hands (the hair is embedded in dried blood on the base of the third finger. It was light blond and fiber-like." So was it hair or fiber in the end?

A few months ago I talked about all the handing over and returning of evidence. I can't even recall where I saw the original reports that were pretty detailed "signed over to DOJ, returned from DOJ" lots of back and forth and I stated I should map all these out. Seemed exceedingly tedious and maybe even pointless, so in keeping with my truest, laziest, squirreliest nature I dropped it and I shouldn't have. Give me some time and Ill get back to it
