Why Camp 18?
If it WAS Mardy, Bo, Dee, and Marilyn, why not leave with Tina and dump her in Reno? Nobody would have been the wiser. They even would have had a pretty good alibi. They didn't know they were "out of the woods" because of this great (nonexistant) "friendship" with all of Law Enforcement. No way! When Mardy was asked how he would have done it, he said he would GET IN and GET OUT. I tend to believe that. And, after all, he was ASKED what he would do. 'Ole helpful Mardy...
**A few little tidbits on Camp 18.etc.
"Camp 18 is just outside of Strawberry Valley. The road in from Strawberry Valley was dirt all the way back and came out at Feather Falls."
How unlikely is it for two girls to be dumped in the area, just a few years apart? Is Camp 18 on Federal land? (Plumas National Forest) That would make it a no COUNTY jurisdiction. Three bodies (Tina, Howard, and a miner) found within miles of each other on roughly the same road? (Add to that, Eliza Stratton, the grandmother of Roger Stratton, on the same road at Meadow Valley? I'll have to look into that more...) Wowza. What bad luck for them all to pick the same area.
"Feather Falls had a Store, Bar, and Gas station at the time."
Anyone (POIs) with connections to Feather Falls?
Arrests? DUIs? Loud muffler? Anything? Maybe Mike could look into that. He's still on the case, correct? Or, is he under the impression that it is solved because Dmacsaysitis?
"Driving the back roads in THAT AREA were common to the Feather Falls people, but not the Quincy people. They had their own route. Rt 70. Coke-Paradise, Crank-Oroville, Weed everywhere between. The Quincy-Meadow Valley- La Porte to Lumpkin FS road leads to Feather Falls, a bar, and the Gold Flake on the way back to Oroville (bars) and around on 70 to Quincy.
Oroville 70>99>5 leads to Klamath Falls. Bo had no knowledge of the backwoods area."
"The only knowledge of that remote backwoods road complex above FF would come from a Butte Co., Feather Falls or Oroville local. The answer lies in work records (logging) or criminal arrests(probation). Siller Bros. Logging were very busy that year around Camp 18, and the trucks went through FF every 5-10 minutes."
Logging boots. Anyone a logger?
"The phone call tip led to Tina being identified, and it put the heat on Mardy. People wanted this solved."
Who did LE STOP investigating? Because it sure took the heat OFF of others more likely involved in this crime....
Dmac: "The location of her skull (Tina) is the last place a bottle hunter would be looking for bottles in near Camp 18, which is another reason I believe Pedrini's involvement is less than accidental."
Can't disagree there.
Pedrini said "he tried to tell the police and they didn't want to talk to him"? Okay, I can't IMAGINE that happening. How did he end up there? Maybe he was told? By whom?
"The trip there by either the La Porte or Meadow Valley roads would have taken some real time. In many years the Meadow Valley road is not even open until May due to snow as it goes up over Bucks lake at elevations over 5000 feet. Back then it was a windy dirt road, not maintained and a trip could take hours even in good conditions. Perhaps Tina was taken down the Canyon, and held somewhere on the Oroville side before being taken to Camp 18 . There is a reason Camp 18 was chosen."
Oroville is 73 miles away from Keddie.
The Evergreen motel. (This name keeps popping up.) It's about two miles outside of Keddie.
The NoSeeNoTell Motel.
Or Cromberg, where a man reported "someone checking in with no luggage saying he just got out of jail"....that's only 21 miles away from Keddie.
Where was Tina before she was found? Whether it was a day, an hour, a week, or three years. She was somewhere.
"The bottle collector found another set of remains prior to finding Tina's."
WHAT??? WHERE?? Now, granted, I've found two wallets in my lifetime...but never human remains. Unusual? I'm thinking yes.
"At least one perp was familiar with Camp Eighteen."
Mardy? No. Bo? No. Marilyn? No.
Dee? idk Seemed pretty "busy" with the VA~not camping and fishing.
Meeks? Which Meeks? Charles? Dale? Richard? Walter?
Best I can recall they were home Sunday morning but who knows what they did Saturday? None of them can keep their stories straight.
Howard? Definately. Howard's "friends and associates"? More than likely.
Maybe Howard is the voice on that tape? Orrrrr, maybe it's one of his buddies that just needed to "get something off his chest".
Somebody please please please tell me that it's been analyzed.
