Welcome to The Great Zodiac Killer Hoax of 1986. Here we read Robert Graysmith's 1986 best seller, ZODIAC, and compare the claims made in that book against the actual law enforcement files, newspaper articles, and "Zodiac Killer" letters in order to separate fact from fiction.
WARNING: This website does not glorify violence, but it does present a frank and mature discussion of several real-life murder cases. All are welcome to participate in this forum, but it is intended for adults and students with adult supervision.
NOTE ON COMMENTS: If you have questions, READ AT LEAST ONE OF THE BOOKS FIRST, then post a comment or question. I used to reply to all "comments," no matter how brainless or rude, but I've simply gotten too busy to reply to uninformed comments, or complaints about my personality, etc. So, if your comment is about nothing more than, "There's no reason to read your books or your website because I already know you're 1000 percent wrong," your comment will be deleted to save space. If your comment is about, "There's no need to read your books or your website because you're an asshole," your comment will be deleted because everyone already knows I'm an asshole and space will be reserved for questions ABOUT THE BOOKS. Or at least about the documents discussed in the books. I will gladly send you a free zip file containing all the documents FOR FREE, if you PM me your gmail address (it's a biiiiiiig zip folder, and it only works on gmail, apparently.)

I played drums at The Village Bar in Toulumne St for the entire time the murders were going on. I am way into it as many of my musician friends are.

I am wondering if there is no Zodiac why did he get dressed up in that outfit since he was going to kill both of the people at Berryessa ? If it was one lunatic I can kind of see that but if it was cops or a group of people trying to throw everyone off whey the outfit and why the stabbings ( which is nuts) he could have just shot them?? Anyway I guess the executioners costume is what bothers me a bit about it not being a lone mad man. Thank you

Drunk it: Thanks for your question! Did you read my book? A detailed answer to your question is in the book. This website is mostly for discussing the books.

Pretty slow here lately: Just my two cents, I tend to agree with you more and more on Zodiac being LE involved or why no rapid progress on obtaining DNA? No body wants to be "a rat" and spill the beans. As for Keddie I think they know but again it would be ratting out and probably a slow, painful death. Mix of country LE and HA's you don't want to be in the middle.

A hard-working reader has been busy digging up a pile of documents pertaining to Hal Snook, etc, and we are busy getting that material ready to share. Hell, we're still trying to absorb it all. It's a LOT. Thanks for hanging in there!

Mi, Michael! I'll need a gmail for the zip file, but that zip only contains the original case files. news articles, etc. These two books will explain in great detail how those files prove the letters (and Graysmith's "book") were a hoaxes: Graysmith's 1986 book ZODIAC is debunked here: tinyurl.com/GZKH1986BookThis book details what REALLY happened in each case, who the REAL suspects were, etc, and who REALLY wrote the Zodiac Killer letters: tinyurl.com/GZKH1969-Kindle-2nd-Edition

Just had a very quick question for you TH. I had run across the word "cerous" about 20 years ago and was aware that was no misspelling in the authors communications. I was aware that it was Cerium with a valence of 3 and was also aware of it's uses as a polishing agent in regards to rocks and earlier T.V. tube screens. I was also aware of its usage in invisible inks and had some inkling that it may have been used to combat blood coagulation issues concerning altitude. Did you ever happen on any information from the Army themselves in regards to it's uses in WW2? Thank you.

Actually, its most common use (as cerous oxalate) apart from polishing gems was as a treatment for altitude and motion sickness. It was later replaced by Dramamine. It was given to paratroopers and passengers on transport ships in WWII. It also had the effect of suppressing fear of death.
