Pieces of another interview that Crim had with Marty on 4-16-1981:
Almost 2 weeks after Marty told Crim what the Meeks boys were saying, Phillip is interviewed and now includes Marty Smart in his story. Phillip was Glenna's Meeks nephew but the Meeks certainly never told it in the years they were posting on the forums. I guess he was a little weird with women because it was reported in the May 20, 1981 edition of FRB that Phillip plead not guilty, in Superior Court, to breaking and entering with the intent to rape. His trial was set for June 29.

I wish this was a normal person and I would just ask him directly, but does he have another document saying these were "friends" lists? And not just people they came into contact with recently? I hate getting piecemealed one-sided info all the time.

Another thing. It's very possible that Steven Parent's lone stab wound (a defensive wound in the palm of his left hand) was from him defending himself against Linda. Kasabian, being the 'lookout,' was stationed near 'the car.' (Notice Vince makes us think the little flower child was all the way down the street by Johnny Swartz' '59 Ford. But in reality 'the car' by which LK was standing was more likely Wilfred Parent's '66 Rambler.) And, it follows that perhaps a frightened Steve - having either been to the main house where he could have left those pesky glasses, or even just seeing the violence - made a break for his car to get out as quickly as he could. Me thinks Linda thrust her blade at him. I believe there was some indication that blood was found on the top part of the door (which someone would use to close if the window was rolled down). Kasabian screamed for Watson, who probably caught up to the kid and shot him 4 or 5 times just after he made it into the car. Thus explaining the phrase, "I won't tell anyone." I've always laughed at the thought of Steve saying that to the crew just as they were coming in, the way Bugliosi makes us believe also. That never made any sense to me. It's likely Linda went through his wallet for money, possibly also taking it, as he lay in the car bleeding out. I sincerely believe that Kasabian AND TEX were the reason that Jay Sebring confided to his secretary (and Joel Rostau's girlfriend) Karlene McCaffery on August 7 that he was ripped off to the tune of $2500, and was willing to do just about anything to get back at who did it.
The amount of $2500 keeps coming up in this story, as it also is the amount Bernard "Lotsapoppa" Crowe says he gave Tex to get the "weed" from a "friend," when they went to El Monte, where Tex took off. Of course, can we set aside the fact that Steve Parent was from El Monte, and was a criminal with a juvenile record? Maybe. Maybe not. Watson's bizarre 4-gunshot blast into the face of Parent in his car at Cielo makes Steve a suspect in this as well. Additionally, this had to have happened AFTER the carnage began inside the house, because who in their right mind would want to quietly "creep" toward the front door if they were also going to fire off 4 or 5 shots no more than 30 feet from the nearest window of the house, which was likely open? There was no evidence of an air conditioner in the place, and there was a heat wave at that time. Had Tex done this, it's pretty hard to imagine that Watson would have had to kick Frykowski on the sofa to wake him up, wouldn't you say? It would be equally impossible to think Abigail was quietly reading a book in her bed when the gunshots went off.
So, while Linda may have been outside the whole time, she was NOT innocent in this matter.

There was a teacher from Nederland CO. Named David White who abused some kids from his class. It would be interesting if he was related to Fleet. There's a lot of people with the White surname though.

What I find interesting is that William S. Burroughs and the pedophile Allan Ginsburg were somehow involved with Naropa in Boulder. The man Miles who the Ramsey's blamed for the murder was referred to his attorney Lee Hill by Allan Ginsburg. Burroughs was most likely a pedophile as well. The character of Mackie Boykin seems interesting. How long did he serve in prison? I found an obituary for a Mackie Ray Boykin, not sure if it's the same guy though.

Yes, he got advice from other inmates, sure, but he learned the business from WOMEN. Mary Brunner got one of her high school classmates to join the "Manson" Family, and she also got Squeaky to join. Susan led Joella into the sex business before she even met Charlie. Mary Ann MacLean very likely lured other women into prostitution before she ever met Robert.

  This is Linda Drouin (later, Kasabian) in Boston in 1967. In 1970, before the Tate LaBianca murder trial began, Vince Bugliosi gave her immunity from prosecution after both Susan Atkins and Leslie Van Houten turned it down. Likely, part of the deal was for no attorney to bring up her sordid, criminal past. A young girl of only 17 when caught up in drug trafficking back east, Linda was said to have possibly even initiated a Mescaline deal with the residents at Cielo Drive that fateful summer of '69.. Susan even told authorities she'd heard that at the ranch. "She got burnt for $1000," Atkins said.
Even more possible is that Linda ended up functioning as bait for an informant.
Keep in mind she was "lured" to the ranch, supposedly, by Catherine 'Gypsy' Share in July, 1969, having met her in Venice while staying with her husband Bob Kasabian and another key figure, Charles Melton, in a kind of small RV. Melton had interestingly also been the same guy who was traveling around with Little Paul Watkins in 1968 and likely introduced him to the family as well. Both Linda and Paul would end up as prosecution witnesses. Gypsy was a real recruiter of 'fine looking women' to the ranch, as she'd done the same the year before by getting Leslie to hop in Bobby Beausoleil's pick up truck in San Francisco. |

The Whites keep their family business hush-hush. Like relatives of serial killers and other HIGH profile "witnesses," Russell Fleet White II has had his public records erased.
I wonder if the Krebs "family" knew Cameron. If they knew Gillies and her mother's family the Meyers, and if they lived in the area, they would have a pretty good idea who was living there. The population density of that whole region is close to zero.
When White II and his family moved to Boulder, he had no job, just income. He said he was looking for "business opportunities" in Boulder. Immediately, he and his family rrreeeaaalllly latched onto the Ramseys. Almost like leeches. Fleet III has a very, very impressive resume of his own. And he's only 31. He's like a Chelsea Clinton, but in Defense Contracting (K Street,) instead of Wall Street. I don't see how he did that without some pull from John Ramsey. Which explains his leeching onto John Ramsey the day his feet hit the ground in Boulder. (Or at least, Ramsey's other "friends.") Especially when the Whites are supposed to be enemies (now) of the Ramseys.
And of course, the Meyers and other ranch owners were always interested in prospectors of all sorts, including oil and gas.
I need to double-check, but I think Cathy Gillies was a local teenaged girl befriended by Cameron when Cameron stayed at the Barker Ranch. I have a hunch that's how Cathy became acquainted with Manson--through Cameron. There are too many coincidences between Cameron and Charlie for Cathy to lead Charlie to Barker Ranch by coincidence.
