Not going to lie, I still find the entire Tina aspect important. I personally do not believe she was taken to throw the scent off. This was the early 1980s, the general public did not have the same knowledge we do today of investigative techniques, evidence collection, DNA, etc. MMB were not criminal masterminds. Sadly, Tina could have been taken by some sick individual who had other plans or by someone she knows trying to "save" her, as noted in Douglas's profile. I find it interesting we have 3 professionals coming to the same conclusion independently of one another (John Douglas, Rich Kelly & now Paul Holes). In Marty's confession to his therapist he claims he killed her the same as the others, with the hammer. There was no evidence of this during her autopsy. Then there is the boot print at the scene. I keep returning to it ever since Professor Horan pointed it out. I've read elsewhere that the boot prints are just a rumor, that the only footprints found at the scene were Sue's barefoot prints. However, I can clearly see those boot prints on the cushion and to me they look very similar to the soles of Tina's "Gass" shoes.

You can trace these white Aryan cults back to the staff of General Douglas MacArthur. In fact there was a plot to seize the whithouse led by the Duponts back in the 1930s. Their goal was to turn the US into a Facist military dictatorship led by General Smedley Butler. Butler didn't like the idea and spilled the beans, so they dumped that idea and recruited Douglas MacArthur to fill the role of dictator. Smedley Butler went on to write "war is a racket", and Jules Archer wrote an outstanding book on the whole conspiracy called "plot to seize the whitehouse". There were a few names on MacArthurs staff that went on to start white supremacist groups around the country. You mentioned one I believe in a past podcast. It wasn't only the Duponts involved, but other billionaires as well. Read the book, it's a piece of history not taught in schools. They wanted Roosevelt out badly.

Lots of key Dixie Mafia players hail from there, like William G. Harrison (an attorney and lobbyist for various local companies, some involved in dumping toxic waste, who managed Florida campaigns for Jeb Bush and George W. Bush), Charles Hilton (a real-estate developer who helped found the Club for Growth), K. Earl Durden (a prominent businessman and Florida transportation commissioner during the time that Ray Lemme was investigating corruption at the Florida DOT), Guy Tunnell (the sheriff of the county of which Panama City was the seat, who went on to head the Florida Department of Law Enforcement under Jeb Bush, and was also on the board of abusive teen drug rehab Straight Inc.), and Allen "Frog" Johnson (a reported pedophile ring operator who worked for local Panama City law enforcement and was protected by them).

I hadn't heard of John Carr's connection there before, but I imagine he was stationed at Tyndall Air Force Base, just outside the city? Tyndall AFB has somewhat of an interesting history itself. In 1999, Raytheon was reported to have sponsored a delegation of top Saudi defense officials at the base.
