I think that is an excellent theory John. It covers just about everything. There was obviously quite a drug problem in the area and I can't believe the number of pedophiles around. It's not hard to believe someone involved with drugs could also have pedophilic tendencies. With all the talk of parties in keddie that night the boys could have ran into some people they knew as they came home. I also consider what Admin Horan said about Dana possibly being a narc. I can see that as a definite possibility as well.

And yes, it would be easy to control a terrified girl & have her help. In regards to the young boys, I couldn't imagine going through that as a child and hiding in the closet is what I think most kids would do. And being told to stay in the room, don't say anything and Tina will make it home safe. But then I think if they saw/knew the people they would have said more either while Tina was still missing or years later (that is one of the reasons I tend to lean towards something happening involving Tina, I could see all 3 boys covering for Tina if they thought she was involved). But....perhaps the perps made Tina go into the boys room & tell them to stay there, be quiet, everything will be ok. Not knowing what really happened, just that Tina left with the perps and hoping she would make it home one day as long they kept quiet.

I noticed in the file posted prior to these three, Joan says Marty has 3 children.  In these reports Joan says Marty has 6 children and that most of them are in foster care.  Could perhaps 4 of his children have  been in foster care? The love letter, maybe he had some resentment towards Marilyn that he was raising her children while his were taken away.

The group held meeting in the loft of the business building where they were indoctrinated by Nation of Islam preachers to kill as many whites as possible to earn their "death angel wings". A white man was 1 point. A white woman was 2 points, and a white child or baby was 3 points. It took 9 points to earn the wings.

Laurence Kaufman was supposedly selected at random for Anthony Harris Jr. Attorney Irving Hurd. Of coarse the attorneys were fishy.

I haven’t formed a start to finish timeline, but I’m inclined to believe there were 2 attackers from outside the home, one with a drug connection to Dana, and another with a great propensity to violence and/or rape. The drug connection perhaps being the “brains of the outfit,” and his partner “the muscle.” This is at odds with the profiler, who describes Tina’s abductor as having a fatherly love for her. According to the forensic archaeologist, she didn’t last long in the company of her “protector.” And if she did help pull up cords and such, I could see her being willing to do everything she was told, especially if Dana was already dead or dying on the floor. The cushion under his head could even have been used as a prop for the killer to demonstrate he could be compassionate if obeyed.

Similarly, if the young boys were simply scared into submission and ordered to stay quiet in bed with the promise that everything would be ok in the morning, I think they would comply (and do whatever they needed to do to cope emotionally). The idea that boys of that age would take heroic action to confront adult murderers or risk their lives by screaming for help doesn’t work for me.

I agree with the idea that there was not a plan to kill at the outset. I think there may have been a confrontation about drugs/money, and at some point the “muscle” partner went too far and clubbed Dana in the head (maybe just a bit too hard). Chaos ensued, and between the physical conflict and the snowballing severity of the crime, escalated quickly. If Dana was dead or incapacitated early on, and the situation is controlled by the shock and threat of more death, the attackers could now move to tying up the “witnesses.” Tina may have even been told this was necessary so as to “make a clean getaway.” Anything to get these guys out of the house. But once John and Sue are tied up, anything goes. Already dirty, the “brains,” though possibly remorseful and overwhelmed, is in no position to argue or help and is himself now at the mercy of the loose cannon. Once the killing is done, Tina is taken as a prize, to be used and done away with at Camp 18.

I forgot to add that Jonathan May was in the house while Nelson shields 4 was shot. May was a cancer researcher from the university of California. I doubt it's related, but who knows. I thought it was important enough to add to the notes while reading the book lol

another victim was Art Agnos who survived the shooting. Agnos was working to build a hospital in the area where he was shot. Agnos knew and worked with Jim Jones, and later became Mayor of San Francisco.
