Sheila said she dropped her things at the door. In the SacBee article there appears to be some "things" dropped outside the front door.
I thought the bloody tissue and swiss knife were found together in the dumpster at the store. I can see Dana dropping off the bloody tissue on his was to the cabin with Johnny but why not just drop it on the ground? It appears whoever left the tissue left the cardboard and knife also. That's just my speculation. It was all taken as evidence so they should have been able to determine if the blood on the tissue belonged to one of the victims.
