Ooooooooohhhhh, I think it was very simple. McNarie, who really did once work for Cosgrove-Meurer Productions (I can't possibly imagine how he got himself fired,) contacted Josh after seeing his documentary and said, "I can get us on TV!" Then he double-crossed Josh--and I mean, he ratted him out and had him charged with evidence tampering. Then, McNarie contacted Gamberg/Hagwood and said, "I can get us on TV!"

My favorite part was when McNarie went on a screaming tirade claiming that People Magazine had "betrayed his privacy and safety" by showing his face "without my permission." Riiiiiiiiggghhhhtttt.
