In my semi-professional opinion, the only "investigators" who may have done a lousy job is Gamberg. If anything, he was one of the people in town who started whatever happened. And he has done as much as McNarie to screw up the investigation since then. He's flat out told me lies over the phone.
Don Stoy, Crim and Bradley, and the others who actually worked on this case seem to have done a pretty thorough job. If no one in that town is capable of ever telling the same story twice, what could ANYONE do?
