And if Dana were in a chokehold (from behind) then there is a good probability that his attacker might have ended up with scratches on his arm--unless he were wearing long sleeves or a jacket, and then he might have scratches ON HIS HANDS. (Which neither Bo nor Marty had.) When they realized Dana was dead, not just unconscious, and Johnny then got upset, then one of the "somebodies" could have hit Johnny from behind.
