I'm looking at this again:
10-16-81, approx. 1130 hr, I received a call from an adult male subject that refused to give his identity at this time.
The caller said he had information concerning the Keddie homicide. He then told me that a friend of his told him the day before yesterday (10-14-81) that he had been drinking with a railroad worker about a week ago and this railroad worker said that he was at the Keddie Murders when it happened. The caller went on to tell me what his friend told him.
That this railroad worker (who the S/O has given a polygraph examination concerning this case) was in Livermore and that another man named Larry or Jerry or Garry or related name gave the railroad worker a ride to Keddie from Livermore the night of the murders. The two went to Tom S.'s house in Keddie where there was a party going on involving the use of LSD. The railroad worker and the subject that gave him the ride then went to the Sharp house where they started playing a game with the victims and the subject that gave the railroad worker a ride tied up the victims. The caller said that the informant (drinking buddy of the railroad worker) had no further information except that the railroad worker said it only started out as a game.
The caller said he would identify himself as #974 at this time and would recontact me Tuesday, 10-20-81. I explained the need for his informant to come forward and contact me and "974" said he understood and would try to get him to come in.
"974" told me that his informant said that the railroad worker was very upset and nervous when telling him of the incident. Based on previous supplemental reports on Chuck W. and Henry T., I believe at this time that the railroad worker is Henry T. and the person that gave him a ride back from Livermore is Chuck W.
"Larry or Jerry or Garry or related name..." Cary. Cary Walke. Not Charles or Charley or Chuck. Cary.
If---IF---Cary was driving back from Livermore with Henry on Saturday night, then, WHERE WAS CHUCK? Oooooorrrr, if Henry told "974" this story, then why would Henry say CARY drove him back from Livermore? Cuuuuuzzzz, Chuck told police that HE (chuck) drove back from Livermore Saturday night. Sooooo, why did "974" think it was Cary, when he obviously didn't even know who Cary was?
And why are there zero references to Cary in the timelines and POI lists?
The excuse Henry Thompson gave police for telling this "confession" to 974 (his trailermate at the time) was "everybody was calling me Keddie Machete." WHO was calling him that? WHY?
