Has anyone ever come across, while reading The Ultimate Evil, a mention of the cult running a child pornography enterprise centered around a church in New Jersey? They were purportedly shipping the child pornography through New Jersey up into Long Island for the higher-ups connected to the cult who enjoyed it. I was told about this by a friend who researched the North Fox Island pedophile ring in Michigan, a fraudulent nature camp run by local millionaire Francis Shelden which involved a New Jersey front company called the Church of the New Revelation (itself set up by infamous financial fraudster Adam Starchild). My friend was adamant about reading the aforementioned information in Maury Terry's book, and remarked on how similar it sounded to the North Fox Island setup, especially considering that NFI operated in the same time period as the Son of Sam murders. But I could never find it in either the 1987 and 1999 editions that are readily available. They told me that this tidbit was only mentioned in the rare, hard-to-find second edition of The Ultimate Evil, which I had never heard of before. Does this claim about a New Jersey church connected to a cult child porn ring sound familiar to anyone?

It doesn't ring a bell, but I'd love to know more. When was the second edition of Terry's book published?

I don't know the publication date, but it is the version of the book which has the vicious-looking dog on the cover. Apparently this info was divulged by one of Maury's prison informants; however, it didn't make the cut for future editions, maybe because he couldn't substantiate it.

Something else I should mention: Francis Shelden's partner in the North Fox Island operation was another wealthy man named Dyer Grossman, a New Yorker. He came from a family that lived in an exclusive part of Long Island ( www.dttspodcast.com/dyer-grossman/) and taught science at a private school in Westchester County known as the Harvey School ( www.businessinsider.com/jeffrey-epstein-north-fox-island-francis-shelden-2019-8). Given what we know about the involvement of the "elite" in the New York cult, especially when it comes to child abuse, Grossman would fit right in.

It wouldn't surprise me. Sheldon was involved with many prostitution rings. Gay Minnesota priest Thomas Maurer was said to help fund the island, he lived with Russell Nelson who was later killed by John Wayne Gacy. Gacy admitted he learned his tricks from Dean Corll of Houston who was part of the same ring. Email George at CAVDEF.org. He knows quite a bit about the sex rings that exited/exist.

Does this claim about a New Jersey church connected to a cult child porn ring sound familiar to anyone? As far as I can tell, there have been three main publications of "The Ultimate Evil" (notice I say "publications" and not "editions")
First, is the original hardcover from Doubleday in 1987
Next, is the paperback published by Bantam Books in 1989
Last, is the Barnes & Noble one in 1999
As far as I know, the only one that has different information is the 1999 Barnes & Noble publication that contained an Epilogue at the end of the book, with Maury updating and following up certain information from the late 1980s publications.
"The Ultimate Evil" crosses over into so many different subjects that one can get confused with all the moving parts. EVERY time I take the time to re-read it, I always see something new and different. I go back and check on things, from time to time, but I haven't read it, cover to cover, in years. I was going to re-read it whole, around the time of the 40th anniversary time frame (2016-2017) but didn't. With all the new information coming in recently (especially from this board, the Professor's podcasts and other sources) I may put off reading it, in its entirety, until the 50th anniversary time frame of 2026-2027!
Like I said, "TUE" crosses over into many different paths, that it gets confusing to remember who said what (the pseudonyms and aliases don't help out either!)
Unless, it was a similar thing like Ed Sanders having to omit the references to The Process, due to legal reasons, after the first edition of "The Family", I don't recall seeing the reference to the New Jersey "church" mentioned (I don't think I ever read the 1987 Doubleday hardcover version of "TUE")
An online search of the PDF version of the 1989 Bantam Books publication of "The Ultimate Evil" shows that "New Jersey" is referenced only about a dozen times and nothing related to the church incidents

I really liked Sanders book as well. It's best to get the UK version, and the updated US version. The Process never won a court decision over Sanders o rom over their name from the book. The publisher didn't want to take it to court and folded under pressure. It went to court in the UK and Samders won. If it went to court here he would have won also.

Haha, I guess I never really introduced myself here. George from CAVDEF would actually be me (Marionumber1 is a common alias of mine). The pedophile rings around the country, especially the ones back in the 70s, were definitely connected up with each other quite closely. Speaking of Corll, one piece of information in the Houston PD records alludes to Corll having over a dozen victims buried in Nassau County NY, curiously enough.

Thank you for the clarification, Omega. I hadn't realized that the non-updated version whose PDF is the easiest to find online was actually published in 1989, not 1987. So there are the 1989 and 1999 editions, and then the original hardcover version, which I believe is the one my friend meant and erroneously referred to as the second edition. Especially since you don't think you've read it, I still think it'd be worth searching for this info in the 1987 hardcover, as that would be a prime candidate for having material that Maury later cut out.

You mentioned previously, that the book your friend referenced is "the version of the book which has the vicious-looking dog on the cover". The "dog" cover is the Doubleday version and is the first edition of the book from 1987.
EDIT: My previous post on this indicated a page count difference between the hardcover first edition and the 2015 Kindle version. Further research is showing 512 pages for both versions. Note: The Kindle version is not getting good reviews on Amazon due to formatting issues.

I could only find one Abner J. Grossman in Manhasset, NY. Interestingly two companies were associated with the address; Comet Customs Brokers, Inc and Comet Realty Woodward Corp. - both owned by the Focarinos (Dina, Jonathan, and Samuel). Customs brokers eh? Also too, if this site is accurate, Maureen E Mcphilmy (Bill O'Reilly's ex) wife also lives here who is married to Jeffrey *Gross*, a Nassau county detective. What an interesting area.(update: looks like Gross & Mcphilmy are seperated and their address is 1296 Plandome rd.) clustrmaps.com/person/Grossman-1cvcmmrealtyprobe.com/p/1290-plandome-rd-manhasset-ny-11030_12344914informationcradle.com/maureen-e-mcphilmy/
