That second picture doesn’t even look like the exterior of the house, I wonder why they’re found on the internet “connected” to the house

I remember that hole in the door of the boys room from the walk through. Interesting angle....

I think I dismissed those internet pictures. My feeling was that someone attached them to "Keddie" just to get their site out there. I don't think they are of Cabin 28. If Josh had pictures of the basement, he would surely have used them instead of these:
(There are two pictures in the book. (He doesn't even call them "in the basement" as you will see.) One is described as: Johnny lived in this downstairs bedroom of Cabin 28. In 2002, the room shows little evidence of the feisty teenager who liked to play records and spend time with his friends. **The photo was taken in 2002.
The second one says: As soon as Cabin 28 became abandoned, squatters began moving in. Suitcases, old electronics, and other miscellaneous items crowd nearly every corner of the tiny space. **The same items are shown in both pictures, so the ones from the book at both from 2002.
Do any pictures exist of the basement other than these two twenty year old photos?

No, still no photos of the basement. Although, I don't see anything sinister about that. These are screenshots from news footage taken that day (shown in the documentary). It shows the basement door is open, the bikes are still in the yard and other photos show the door closed with the red paint on it. So, LE checked the basement, there could have been nothing there. Johnny's basement bedroom came from Sheila & the one mention from Mr. Seabolt when he says the # was found on the window sill where Johnny sleeps. But the boys room had that cot in it, 3 beds. The basement was unfinished, no heat, even if there was another cot down there, where was Dana going to sleep? On the cold, hard ground? I know if I were bringing a friend home to spend the night, the warm living room with tv & sleeping space would be my choice. And if J&D had been home for any significant period of time before the murders occured, getting something to eat probably would have been one of the first things they did, after not eating all day. But we know they hadn't eating recently from the autopsy reports. CJ said the boys went in the front door when she dropped them off. Even if they did go downstairs without grabbing some food first, they were still fully dressed down to their coat & shoes. I can understand keeping their coats on if chilling in the cold basement, but it's claimed they went to sleep down there with their shoes & coats on. As did Tina apparently, she switched shoes before bed for some reason and went to sleep fully dressed, in different shoes, and under cardboard? What? Got off track there, but it's more likely j&d were in the living room after being dropped off by CJ and walking in through the front door. Hence there was nothing evidentiary value worth photographing in the basement. What are your thoughts? Snoho, based on that photo you are absolutely right. It does not seem impossible Justin could have seen into the living room from the bedroom doorway.
