I agree and there is no way any real investigator could ever investigate (or have investigated) this case without looking into the possibility that Tina left that cabin with somebody that she knew - regardless if that is true or false - because we do not know what happened to Tina. I think for many people her disappearance is puzzling, doesn't fit the Marty theory, but the possibilities of what happened too sickening, so she ends up being an afterthought and her disappearance being summed up by saying she was taken to throw off an investigation.

Joel W. Lipsey (Tina's teacher) Interview on 9-24-81:
He heard from another teacher on the day of the Keddie murders that Tina Sharp was killed. He came to Quincy to check and talked with someone in the sheriff's office and then he joined the search because he was brand new on the search team and thought he could be helpful if Tina was around because he was one of her teachers and she might respond better to him.
He came to the PCSO about 4-6 weeks after the incident and talked to Ken Shanks about Marilyn S. and her kids. Marilyn told him she thought her husband, Marde S., had made statements about hating kids and that he did not like women. Marilyn told him she has seen some bloody clothing shortly after the murders.
He is a special education teacher and Tina was in his class part time. Tina was in the fifth grade during the 1980-81 school year. He works with slower children and teaches remedial reading, math, etc. Tina was in the fourth grade when she started attending his class. He had Tina three hours a day.
He said Tina made specific references to her home life. He never remembers Tina speaking of her father. Tina was very concerned about her older sister Sheila when Sheila went to Oregon.
Tina did not seem like an unhappy child. Her clothing was not the best. In his opinion Tina was underdeveloped in her social skills compared to her peers.
At one time Tina said her mother's new boyfriend, named Joe, was coming around a lot and this excited Tina because she thought her mom might get married.
Tina was very affectionate and liked to sit on his lap and hug him. He said this was not unusual and other children do the same thing also.
He said Glenna Sue Sharp was very quiet and talked very little when she attended conferences.
Tina had learning problems and didn't act like she was as mature as most 12 year olds. Tina was street-wise and knew how to take care of herself. She was exposed to her older brother and her older sister who had been pregnant. Regarding her physical maturity, Tina was 12 going on 10. She was small for her age. Tina was open and a very hard worker. He couldn't give her enough work to do. Tina rarely mentioned her home life. He doesn't think Tina was trying to reach out to anyone. The family group seemed to be pretty cohesive.
The last time he saw Tina was the Friday before Easter vacation when she was playing handball. Tina seemed happy, no different than any other day. She gave him a hug and then went back to her class.
He saw nothing in his observations of Tina to base an opinion on whether she was sexually promiscuous or not. He wouldn't say it was impossible she could be because of her exposure to her family and the Meeks family. He saw her one cold fall evening dancing in the Pioneer Bowl parking lot with Walter M. Tina was closer to the Meeks kids than any other kids at school. Tina liked to go to Spanish Falls with her brothers and friends.
He doesn't feel Tina could be a participant in the crimes.
He said his former teacher's aide, Gretchen H., might have information that could be helpful to the investigation. He showed agents pictures he had taken of Tina. He said he takes candid shots of the children and then they use the pictures in Mother's Day, Christmas cards, etc.
On the night of the homicide he was out with Tanya H., dropped her off (at her house between 11 and midnight); he then returned to his home and went to bed.
Excerpt from an FBI Profile:
This offender was motivated by his commitment and love for Tina Sharp. He loves her like a father. In all probability, Tina Sharp was planning on running away with him.
It was Tina Sharp who probably went to her mother's bedroom after she was killed, got a blanket from her bed, and covered her mother with same. Tina Sharp, at 12 years of age, may have had conflicts with her mother like many pre-adolescent girls at that age. However, since the homicide, she has probably demonstrated a great deal of remorse and guilt. Her feelings will be in direct conflict with her abductor and may lead to her own death if her abductor feels that she may go to the police.
If Tina Sharp is still alive, she will find that she will become increasingly depressed on significant anniversary and holiday dates (ie mother's birthday, her own birthday, Thanksgiving, and Christmas). Her depression will cause her to seek out her father as well as the gravesite of her mother and brother. It should be noted here that information received by the BSU is that the father had an alibi at the time of the homicides and therefore is not a suspect. Tina Sharp may have already attempted to locate her mother's place of burial and may have visited the burial site.
This offender demonstrated control and confidence and therefore he is not a juvenile nor is he free of any prior police record. He is fixated on young females and has been involved with them in the past, be it for sex or for personal profit (ie child pornography).
Your investigation should direct itself in saturating Sacramento and the San Francisco areas with local media accounts of this crime in hopes that Tina Sharp, if still alive, will see one of these articles. The articles should reflect sorrow for the victim, particularly Tina's mother, who was recently divorced and struggling to raise her children.
These articles must be timely. They should appear at times (dates) which are significant. The articles should set forth data relative to the burial location of her mother and the exact location and address of her father. The victim will in all probability be drawn to the cemetery and/or attempt to get in contact with her father.
As stated earlier, Tina Sharp's age works to the advantage of the investigator if tactics are utilized (media) to remind her of this crime and her surviving family members. However, her age will also work against her if her abductor feels he no longer has control over her and feels that she may go on the run and go to authorities

LE's Walk Through with Sheila 4-16-1981:
Sheila Sharp tells police that an off white colored wooden tool box is missing from the kitchen next to the refrigerator. It contained vise grips, pliers, and screwdrivers, normally. It also contained the hammer used as a weapon. Also missing are Tina’s brown lace-up shoes with the word “GASS” on the sole. Tina’s red coat is also missing. It is a nylon coat, waist length with a zipper front.
PCSO Actions Upon Tina's Discovery:
The report is dated 6-19-84.
I was advised by DOJ SA/Mike Crim that the Butte County Sheriff Department received a report from a citizen looking for antique bottles in the Feather Falls area that he had discovered a skull. They responded and recovered a portion of a human skull but were not able to identify it due to the lack of identifiable information on the remains. The discovery was made on 4-22-84.
On discovery that there wasn't enough information on the remains, the BCSO and DOJ conducted an extensive search in the area where the original find was made. On 6-8-84 they located the lower jar and it contained the needed information for comparison. The usable portions of the remains were sent to Paul Payne of the DOJ missing persons unit who coordinated the comparison of the remains with Tina Sharp who he had on file from the original investigation of this case. Payne sent the X-rays on file of Tina along with the remains to Dr. Norman S. Sperber of San Diego. [see deleted scenes from Part I for our interview with Dr. Sperber]
On 6-19-84, DOJ Crim was notified by Payne that Dr. Sperber had confirmed the identification of the remains as Tina Sharp from the dental records. Dr. Sperber is an expert in such comparisons.
During the search by DOJ and BCSO of the area where the remains were found, other evidence was also located.
6-19-84, I contacted Paul Payne of DOJ who confirmed the positive identification. I met with DOJ SA/Crim and discussed the find with him. We tried several times to notify the next of kin but were unable to contact anyone because they had either moved or were out of the area of their business and home address.
6-19-84, the evidence seized by BCSO during the search was labeled and packaged by myself and readied for transport to the DOJ lab in Redding. Purpose to compare the knots found in the ligatures from the victims inside the Keddie residence with the knot found in the cloth ligature found in Butte County. Tahama Co. investigators who were in Quincy on a different case will transport the evidence to the Redding lab on 6-21-84 on their return to their county.
6-20-84, approx. 0900 hr, we made contact with V/G. Sharp's sister in Oregon and notified her of the above. We were unable to contact the other relatives mentioned in this case. BCSO was advised of the notification and news releases were issued on the information by BCSO and PCSO.
6-20-84, I assigned Deputy R. Day to contact the Fish and Game Dept. to obtain location of deer kills in the Feather Falls area by hunters in the years 1974 through 1981. Purpose is to obtain a list of persons who would be familiar with that area from a prior visit. The area where Tina was found was a site called "Camp 18" which is a remote deer hunting area several miles above (North) of Feather Falls. USFS map coordinates are R7E, T21N, sec 35.
6-20-84, I contacted Brad HAssy who is a helicopter pilot. He will take us to the above area on 6-21-84 for aerial photos. A ground search team was arranged by Det. Sgt. Steve Wright. A door to door and area search will be conducted on 6-21-84 in an attempt to obtain further evidence or information from the crime scene in Butte County.
6-20-84, Marilyn L. (previously Marilyn S.) contacted me to confirm what she had heard on the radio about Tina being found in Butte County. I advised her it was true. We discussed her ex-husband. She told me that he went to Reno the day after the homicides, or at least that is what he told her. She said she can't confirm that he actually went to Reno, but he did go somewhere. I asked her about her son Justin and she told me that he has had some serious mental problems and was consequently delivered to her [other] ex-husband in Montana. He has started to discuss the Keddie incident on occasion but stops abruptly and will not talk further. I asked her if Marde had any connections (deer hunting, fishing, etc) with Feather Falls or that area and she stated none that she knows of. She added, however, that he does fish a lot and spends a lot of time in the woods but not around that area. Marilyn was very upset emotionally, evident by crying. She asked me if we found any other evidence in the area around Feather Falls that would implicate a suspect. I advised her we hadn't. No additional information from her at this time.
6-21-84, approx 1030 hr I left via helicopter to Feather Falls. On arrival I met with an investigative team supervised by Det. Sgt. Steve Wright. The team consisted of Sgt. Wright, DOJ Crim, Sgt. Young, Deputy Carillo, and Deputy Combs. We went to the actual location of where the body was found which is Camp 18 on the Feather Falls/LaPorte road approximately five miles north of Feather Falls. I found the location to be approximately 100 yards from the Camp 18 turn out. DOJ SA/Crim pointed out the exact location in that he was there on the original search by the BCSO. We searched the area for any evidence that is missing or could be connected to this case. Sgt. Wright located an empty medical tape dispenser and a portion of a pair of Levis in the area. Sgt. Young located a decomposed blue nylon coat that was buried near the road in the camp. With the aid of the helicopter, I took several photos of the area.
We went from Camp 18 to the community of Feather Falls where we conducted door to door interviews of any and all persons we could locate in town and the surrounding area. We gave people a list of possible suspect names, the original flyer of Tina, a list of possible suspect vehicles, and the composite drawings to examine and asked them questions concerning any suspicious circumstances that might be connected with her death. No one had anything to add to our information at this time. We left information where we could be contacted and asked that they call should they remember anything later.
